Veedersburg, Oct 17 - David Smith, a life-long resident of Veedersburg died at St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette Thursday evening. Mr. Smith was 40 years of age and was born in Veedersburg. Until two years ago, he had made his home here. At that time he moved to Attica and was employed in the National Car Couple plant in that city. He had been in poor health for the past 8 months but his condition was not serious until Wednesday when he was taken suddenly ill and rushed to the hospital where he died 24 hours later. The remains were taken to the home in Attica and Saturday morning will be brought to Veedersburg where the funeral will be conducted from the United Brethren Church. Rev. FM Dawson will officiate and burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery. The widow, a son Guy and daughter Mary Elizabeth survive him. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Laura Glover of Indianapolis and Mrs Almeda Kinser besides two brothers, Charles W. and Albert both residing here.
