He was a graduate of Kingman High School and the Indiana University School of Medicine. He was a flight surgeon during World War II with the 558th Bombardier Squadron and attained the rank of Major. Among his many awards were the Soldier's Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Purple Heart, Army of Occupation, six battle stars and the Presidential Unit Citation. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. His memberships included the Kingman Lodge #314 F.&A.M., the Fountain-Warren Medical Society and the Montgomery County Medical Society. He started his medical practice in Kingman in 1932 and retired in the early sixties.
