KINGMAN – Byron C.
Smith, 37, died of a heart attack Thursday morning at his home in Fowler. He
was a native of Kingman, born Dec. 31, 1932 to Harry and Mary McMasters Smith,
and was reared and educated in this community. He was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy
and a member of American Legion Post 57 of Fowler. Mr. Smith was employed with
the fertilizer division of American Oil Co. He was married in 1960 to Lois
Hartman, who survives with a stepson, Raymond Warren, at home, and a
half-sister, Mrs. Barbara Jean Plunkett of Crawfordsville. Friends may call at
Hooker and Konzelman Funeral Home in Fowler after 4 p.m. today and at Woodrow
Funeral Home in Kingman after 2 p.m. Saturday. Funeral rites are at 2 p.m.
Sunday at the funeral home here, with burial in Centennial Cemetery. – jlr
