Wallace, Ind.—Miss Bessie Smith, 82, of Crawfordsville Route 3, died at 9:43 p.m. Monday (May 13, 1974) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. She had been a patient two weeks.
Born Jan. 28, 1892, at Nevada, Mo., she was the daughter of Arch and Evalyne Krout Smith. She had resided on a farm near Wallace for 5 years.
Survivors include a brother, Hughstan of Bradenton, Fla.; two nephews, Dallas Smith of Romney and Kent Smith of Indianapolis; and two nieces, Mrs. Evelyn Lawler of Crawfordsville Rte 3 and Mrs. Mary Bol of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wallace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Karl Korbel officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery.
