ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Ada Pearl Smith, 83, former resident of Mellott, died at Williamsport Community Hospital at 8:45 a.m. today (Jan. 26, 1970), shortly after being admitted. She had been a patient at the Alward Nursing Home in Attica since April 2, 1965. Mrs. Smith was born in Glasgow, Ky., Sept. 18, 1887, daughter of Richard and Abigale Morrison Rennick. She had been a practical nurse and had worked in restaurants in Hoopeston, Ill. and Lafayette. She was married in 1906 to Paul Holden in Covington and was later married to John Smith in Hoopeston in 1950. Mr. Smith preceded her in death in July, 1965. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Newtown. Surviving is a son, Harold Holden of Mellott. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica, with the Rev. George Phelps officiating. Burial will be in the Old Baptist Cemetery west of Newtown. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. --typed by Walt W
