Mrs. Alice Mae Smart,
66, of Danville Route 1, died at 4:55 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 12, 1975) at Lake View
Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient one month. She was a member of
the First Baptist Church. Her hobby was raising flowers. Mrs. Smart was born
Sept. 1, 1908, in Veedersburg, Ind., the daughter of Ollie and Anna Lighty Ray.
She married James F. Srnart Nov. 17, 1929, and he died March 14, 1974.
Survivors inxlude a daughter, Virginia Lee Richards of Danville; a son, Gene
Smart of Danville; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Danny, Ottice and
Homer Ray, all of Danville. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Berhalter
Funeral Home. The Rev. Harris Stuermer will officiate and burial will be in
Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5 and 79 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home. – jlr
