Waynetown Feb 19 - Mrs. Purnelia Small, 78 years of age, mother of JW Small, publisher of the Waynetown Dispatch and Hillsboro Times died at 3:40 o'clock yesterday afternoon at her home here of complications after a long illness. The deceased was born in Waynetown Aug 17, 1846, the daughter of James and Anne Price Bratton. She had lived here all her life. In 1860 she married Edward Small who has been dead 26 years. She was the mother of 10 children, six of whom with her husband, preceded her in death. Mrs. Small reared 7 of her grandchildren also and had the distinction of rearing 19 children during her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of this place and was one of the most highly respected residents of the community.  She is survived by the following children: JW Small of this place; Frank Small of Crawfordsville; Mrs. JA Schoonover of Lafayette and Mrs. FM Lucas of near Waynetown. She is survived by 5 grandchildren; Mrs. HC Hendricks of Crawfordsville; Clarence Small of Cleveland, O; Mrs. Herbert McAlvine of Cleveland, O; and Miss May Schoonover of Lafayette and one great grandchild, John William Hendricks of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at the residents in charge of Rev. Zimmerman of the Baptist Church - kbz
