SMALL, Charles - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mellott - Charles Small, 74, died Wednesday morning in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis where he was admitted Monday and underwent surgery Tuesday. He was a native of Wingate born Jan. 21, 1888 to Gibson and Lettie Lee Small. He was married at Shadeland March 6, 1911 to Hazel Ferguson, who died in 1959. Mr. Small farmed in the Wingate-Waynetown area for many years and had lived in Mellott the last 25. He served for a time here as town marshall and was employed at the local elevator until he retired. Surviving are a son, Lee of Waynetown; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Barkley of Wayne, Michigan; a brother, Russell of New Richmond; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services are announced for 10 a.m. Friday at Servies Funeral Home Waynetown. Rev. Guy Tremaine will officiate and burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
