COVINGTON – Mrs. Melissa Henson Smail, 87, of Covington, died Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Covington. Born July 16, 1887, she was a daughter of Wilson and Mary E. Martin. She first married Roswell G. Henson in 1906. He preceded her in death. She then married W. S. Smail in 1956. He died Oct. 30, 1973. Surviving are three sons, Edmon M. and Robert P. Henson of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Richard J. Henson of Rochester, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary L. Bell of Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs. Helen L. Koerber of Detroit, Mich.; five stepchildren, Gene and William Smail of Covington, Mrs. Don Coffman of Ladoga, Mrs. Paul Krontz of Kankakee, Ill., and Mrs. Byron Furr; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Keller of Arizona; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Burkhart Funeral Home at Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends may call at the funeral home. --– jlr

– Services were Wednesday at the Burkhart Funeral Home in Crawfordsville for
Mrs. Melissa Henson Smail, 87, of Covington, who died Monday (Aug. 23, 1976) at
Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Born July
16, 1887, she was the daughter of Wilson and Mary E. Martin. She was married in
1906 to Roswell G. Henson, who preceded her in death. She was then married in
1965 to W. S. Smail, who died Oct. 30, 1973. Survivors include three sons,
Edmon M. Henson and Robert P. Henson, both of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and
Richard J. Henson of Rochester, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Bell of
