SLUSSER, Charles Thurman

Charles T. Slusser, 56, well known Fountain County man died
Monday evening (3 June 1946) at his home in Veedersburg after
being seriously ill for the past 3 months. He had recently returned to his
home from the
St. Elizabeth Hospital and from the Veterans Hospital.
Mr. Slusser was superintendent of the Turkey Run State Park
and recently had been interested in the promotion of an airport south of
Attica. He was active in civic circles and prominent in Democratic
politics. A
veteran of WWI he was a charter member of the Charles
Forrest Post, the American Legion, was a member of VFW and the United Brethren
Church.
He was born March 10, 1890 in Fountain County, the son of
WIlliam D. and Mary Meek Slusser. He was married (20 Aug 1922) to Naomi
Osborn, who survives, with a sister, Mrs. Lena Hayworth of Hammond.
Funeral services were held at the Parham Funeral Home in
Veedersburg at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. In accordance with a
request of the deceased, the body was taken to Indianapolis for cremation. --- kbz
