SLUSSER, Catherine Sutton - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mellott - Mrs. Catherine Slusser, 66, a resident of the Mellott area since 1938, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Culver Hospital after being a patient there two weeks. Born Oct 26, 1895 near Veedersburg, her parents were Benjamin and Mattie Clickner Sutton. She married Elton Slusser of Mellott. They lived in Indianapolis 20 years before returning to their farm near Mellott. Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude LaBaw of Stone Bluff and Mrs. Ruth Foster, Whitecloud, Mich and a brother, Hugh Sutton of Lafayette. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday in Newtown Baptist Church with Rev. George Phelps officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery northwest of Mellott. Friends may call at the Crumley Funeral Home, Hillsboro Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and evening. The body will lie in state at the church for an hour preceding services.
