WALLACE – Fred W.
Sloan, age 69, a resident of this area for 29 years, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday,
Jan. 21, at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient for
one and a half weeks. Mr. Sloan, a retired farmer, resided on Hillsboro Rt. 1.
He was a member of the Wallace Lutheran Church. He was born near Kingman March
18, 1898, the son of Oral and Ida Tunin Sloan. He was married June 1, 1929, to
Agnes Clouse, who survives. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: one son,
William of Hillsboro Rt. 1; one sister, Miss Byrrl Sloan of Kingman, and seven
grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the
Wallace Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Servies officiated. Burial, with the
Davies-Tudor Funeral Home in Marshall in charge, was in the church cemetery. – jlr
