ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) –
Mrs. Margaret N. Slauter, 66, of 1112 S. McDonald, Attica, died at 8:10 p.m.
Monday (Oct. 11, 1971) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, She had been a
patient since Sept. 19. Born March 25, 1905, in Monticello, Ind., she was the daughter
of John and Belle Merrill Teague. She was married Jan. 27, 1922, in Attica to
William O. Slauter, who died Dec. 8, 1970. Mrs. Slauter attended McNett
Boarding School at Rensselaer and the Hennings Seminary at Aurora, Ill. She was
a former employe of the Attica RMC for 15 years. She had resided at Monticello
until she moved to Attica in 1922. She was a member of the Christian Church and
was a past chief and charter member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge. Survivors
include a son, Bill of Long Beach, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. James (Marge)
Adkins of Lafayette, Mrs. William (Patricia) Martin of New Haven, Ind., Mrs.
Arch (Betty) Clawson of Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. James (Eleanor) Bodine of
Attica; and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the
Maus Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry C. Randolph will officiate. Burial will be in
Riverside Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received
after 5 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
