Covington, Ind -- Thomas B. Slattery, 83 of Covington died at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, Feb 7, 1974 at the VA hospital in Danville. He had been a patient there several years. Born August 7, 1888, in Covington, he was the son of John and Elizabeth McCabe Slattery. He had never married. Mr. Slattery was a resident of Covington all of his life, except a few years in Terre Haute. He was an Army Veteran of WWI and was a charter member of the Fulton-Banta American Legion Post 191. He also was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include 3 nieces, Mrs. Helen Brown of Danville, Mrs. Betty Moore of Sheboygan, Wis and Mrs. Mariam Windgerson of Milwaukee, Wis; three nephews, Ray Geiger of Covington; Hugh McGeorge and Luke McGeorge both of Detroit, Mich and several great nieces and great nephews. Requiem Mass will be at 10: 30 A.M. Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington. The Rev. Donald Vernon will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends will be received after 7 p.m.Friday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Friday. - kbz

Covington—Thomas B. Slattery, 85, of Covington, died at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville. He had been a patient there several years.
Born Aug. 3, 1888, in Covington, he was the son of John and Elizabeth McCabe Slattery. He had never married.
