Cletus N. Sipes, 62, of Williamsport, father of Mrs. Carol Ann Coleman of Crawfordsville, died at Williamsport Community Hospital at 6 a.m. Thursday. He had been a patient there since Tuesday and had been in failing health for the past six years. Born in Williamsport March 29, 1906, he was the son of Charles and Lona McClure Sipes. He attended Williamsport School. He was married in Williamsport Sept. 14, 1929, to the former Ruby Shore. The widow survives. Mr. Sipes spent most of his life in the Williamsport community and was an electric craneman at Harrison Steel Castings Co. in Attica for 41 years until his retirement six years ago. His most recent employment was at Carl’s Pool Room in Attica. Surviving in addition to the widow and daughter previous mentioned are five other daughters, Donna, at home, Mrs. Gene (Earlene) Beavers, Mrs. Paul (Norma) Odore and Mrs. Charles (Leona) Tribby Jr., all of Attica, and Mrs. Doyle (Kay) Clark of Delphi; a son, Larry D. Sipes of Rensselaer; a brother, Stanley Sipes of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Edna Warrenburg of Beech Grove; the father of Idaho; 15 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Mr. Sipes was preceded in death by a son, Normand Harvey Sipes, July 31, 1963. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica. Rev. Harry Randoph, pastor of the Attica Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at Williamsport. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday. – jlr

WILLIAMSPORT - Cletus N. Sipes, age 62, of Williamsport died at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Community Hospital here where he had been a patient since Tuesday, He had been in in health for six years,.
Mr. Sipes was born in Williamsport March 29, 1906, the son of Charles and Lona McClure Sipes.  He had lived in Williamsport most of his and he attended the Williamsport School.  He was married Sept 14, 1929 at Williamsport to Ruby Shore. He had been employed as an electric crane operator at Harrison Steel Castings Co., in Attica 41 years He retired six years ago and had been assisting in Carl's Pool Room in Williamsport.
Surviving in addition to the wife, are: six daughters, Mrs. Gene Beavers, Mrs, Paul O'Dore and Mrs. Charles Tribby Jr., all of Attica, Mrs. Doyle Clark of Delphi, Mrs. Harold Coleman d Crawfordsville, and Miss Donna Sipes, at home; one son Larry of Williamsport;  his father of Idaho; one sister, Mrs. Edna Warrenburg of Beach Grove; one brother, Stanley of Lafayette; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the DeSutter Funeral Chapel in Attica.  The Rev. Harry Randolph officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery at Williamsport.
