SINES, Jemima J. Alward

Jemima J. ALWARD, daughter of  Ira and Mary Harrison Alward, was b near Wallace, IN Oct 11, 1846 and died Oct 30, 1930 at Chelan, WA at the age of 84 years 19 days. Her parents were pioneers of Ft Co arriving about 1830. At the age of 22, on Nov 22, 1868 she was united in marriage to Samuel G. Sines of Steam Corner, IN who served in the Civil War having enlisted in Co B 25th Ill Inf. he died at Chelan, Wa Oct 6, 1914 age 77. To this union 10 children 8 living: Mary Isenhart; Ida Culver; Charles; George; Roy and Grant Sines; Joseph; Sherman, Arista who died at Sioux City, Iowa in 1916; and John who died at Minneapolis, MN in 1923 from injuries received serving in the WW. In 1883, after residing on farms near Steam Corner & Wallace for 15 years with her husband children she moved to Guthrie Co Iowa resided on a farm until 1891 when they moved to Adair, Iowa. In 1909, she with her husband and son, Grant moved to Chelan, WA where she resided until her death. She is also survived by a brother, Bloomer Alward of Kingman IN and 3 sister, Ella Philpot; Harriet Myers and Mahala Bruner of Kingman. In the last 5 years she was paralyze don her right side and although helpless she never suffered pain only the discomforts of being helpless her mind, eyesight and hearing being alert and keen up to the time of her death.
