Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

WEST LEBANON, Ind. -- Floyd E. Sims, 70, of 1918 Echo, Lafayette, a former West Lebanon resident, died at 6:55 p.m. EDT Tuesday (Aug. 25, 1970) at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in ill health three years. Born and reared at West Lebanon, he was married in 1920 at Covington to Sarah N. Kennedy, who died in April 1969. He was watchman for the Monon Railroad for 50 years, retiring in 1967. He was a gang captain for the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Union, a member of the West Lebanon United Methodist Church and the DAV Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, William of Lafayette and Floyd Wayne of Buck Creek; two daughters, Mrs. Georgiana Smith of Lafayette and Mrs. Catherine Boes of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Ralph of Rankin, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Bradley of Chicago Heights, Ill., 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services at Hippensteel Chapel will be at 1 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken to DeSutter Funeral Home at West Lebanon, where visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services there will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. J. Philip Klonger officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
