SIMPSON, Melvin Eugene

Attica—Melvin Eugene Simpson, 72, Route 2, Attica, died unexpectedly at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 1989 in his home.
  He was born Sept. 15, 1916 in Armstrong, Ill., the son of Mont and Orva Booher Simpson. He was married March 10, 1940 in Williamsport to Marjorie E. Stump, who survives.
  He graduated from Armstrong High School in 1934. He moved from Armstrong to Williamsport and had lived in the Attica area 40 years. He was a lifetime farmer and had been employed at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica, from 1941 to 1949 and later drove a school bus for Attica School Corporation 15 years.
  He was on the Davis Township Advisory Board for 35 years and was a member of Riverview United Methodist Church; Moose Lodge 1482 and Eagles Lodge 2596, both of Attica.
  Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Judy Van Reed, Attica, and Mrs. Kaye Rothrock, Williamsport; a son, Gerald, Saint Joseph, Ind.; two brothers, Ronald, Williamsport, and Lowell, Dearborn, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three brothers and one great grandson
  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, with the Rev. Charles Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
  Visitation was 5-9 p.m. Thursday with Eagles and Moose memorial services at 8:30 p.m. -s
