Pine Village - John A. Simpson, 67 of Pine Village, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette where he had been a patient since Oct 16. He had been ill since January. He was born at Cayuga and lived most of his life in Indiana. He was plant supervisor for Standard Material and Gravel Corp Indiana for eight years retiring in 1966. He had lived in Pine Village one year. In 1919 he was married at Attica to Vivian Stephens who survives.
Surviving with the widow are four sons: Richard D. of Indianapolis; Thomas E of Leavenworth, Kan; Rollin L of ROchester and John J of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley McFerren and Mrs. Margaret Kerkhove both of Attica; three brothers, Warren of Kramer, Paul of Indianapolis and Orville of Lapel and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Butts of Mishawaka.

Attica – Funeral services for John A. Simpson, age 67 of Pine Village who died at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday Nov 8 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at DeSutter Funeral Home here. The Rev. Gene Polf officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Simpson who had been hospitalized since Oct 16 had been ill since January. He was born Nov 13, 1899 near Cayuga the son of Harvey and Susie Elam Simpson. He was married at Attica Sept 13, 1919 to Vivian Stephens, who survives. Surviving in addition to the wife are: four sons, Richard of Indianapolis; Thomas of Leavenworth, Kan; Rollin of Rochester and John of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley McFerren and Mrs. Margaret Kerkhove both of Attica; three brothers, Warren of Kramer; Paul of Indianapolis and Orville of Lapel; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Butts of Mishawaka; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. – kbz
