SIMPSON, Chester Wendell Jr

Covington – Chester Wendell (Junior) Simpson, age 41 of Danville, Ill brother of Ronald Simpson of Williamsport and Melvin E. Simpson of Attica died at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. He had been a patient there since March 4 and had been in ill health about a year. Mr. Simpson was born Feb 6, 1927 at Gerald, Ill, the son of J. Monta and Orva Leone Booher Simpson. He was married April 16, 1949 in Danville to Dorothy Jane Stokes who survives. He had been a resident of Danville for 22 years and had lived at his present address 21 Boiling Springs Road for 16 years. For 17 years he was employed at Jennings Glass Co and for the past 5 years operated the Simpson Glass Co. He attended the First Nazarene Church and was an assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 9. A former member of the Western Riders Club., his hobbies were horses and tropical fish. He had served 18 months in the Army. Surviving in addition to the wife are: three sons, Michael Lee; Gregory Wayne and Jeffrey Scott; one daughter, Leslie Anne, all at home; his parents of Penfield, Ill and four brothers, Melvin E of Attica; Raymond V of Bartonsville, Ill; Lowell of Dearborn, Mich and Ronald of Williamsport. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Pape Memorial Home in Danville. The Rev. Samuel N. Smith officiated and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. = klbz
