ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) –
Mrs. Belle Simpson, 93, of 814 S. McDonald, died at 11:10 p.m. Friday (Oct. 15,
1971) at the Small Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since Nov. 11,
1968. Born in Portland Arch on Jan. 4, 1878, she was the daughter of Peter A.
and Sarah Jane Miller Shaffer. She was married on Aug. 4, 1917, in Detroit,
Mich., to Charles E. Simpson who died Feb. 9, 1952. A life resident of the
area, she was a former telephone operator at Danville, Ill. Her husband was a
railroader. Survivors include two step-daughters, Mrs. Muriel Easley of Tucson,
Ariz. and Mrs. Leon Czuchran of Whittier, Calif.; a niece, Mrs. Donald Vaugh of
Lafayette; and a nephew, Lloyd Shaffer of Attica. Services will be at 2 p.m.
Monday at the Maus Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harry C. Randolph officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral
home after 6 p.m. Sunday. – jlr
