William Allen SIMMS, son of Edward and Anna Simms was born at Peoria, Ill July 23, 1888. At an early age his parents moved to Waynetown where he resided until his marriage to Lulu Childers of Kingman, Ind Feb 4,
1908. The wedding took place at Covington. They moved to Waveland Jan 1909 where he engaged in the painting and paper hanging business until he was appointed postmaster June 27, 1934 where he served until the time of his death which occurred in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville at 5:30 this morning of peritonitis. Mr. Simms was a member of the Modern Woodman of America. When the lodge was closed a number of years ago he was selected clerk and kept the insurance of its members in tact for the members throughout the years. For four years he was janitor of the Waveland School where he became acquainted with and endeared himself to both the faculty and students. Also he was employed for a number of years for the old Midland Railroad. There remains his wife Mrs. Lulu Simms and four children: Wayne Scott, assistant Postmaster of Waveland; Rowen Lee of Tulsa Okla; Aleen at home; Virginia Williams of Jamestown Ind and one brother, Matthew S of Tulsa, Oklahoma and one grandson Rowan Lee Simms of Tulsa, Ok. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. McBrayer at Machledt Funeral Home Saturday 2:00 pm. with burial in the
Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown.   --- typed by kbz
