WILLIAMSPORT,
Ind. (CNS) – Mrs. Vivian Loetta Simmons, 47, of Williamsport, died this morning
(Nov. 16, 1974) at her residence. She had been seriously ill seven months. Born
Jan. 19, 1927, at Perrysville, she was the daughter of Fred and Flossie Hankins
Winters. On Sept. 26, 1955 she was married to James F. Simmon who survives. A
resident of the Williamsport area most of her life, she attended Perrysville
grade and high schools before spending brief periods in Carpentersville and
Chicago, Ill. Other survivors include two daughters, Amelia and Jamie, both at
home; a son James at home, three brothers, Charles Winters of Chicago, James P.
Winters of Jackson, Wis.; and John F. Winters of St. Louis, Mo.; six sisters,
Mrs. James (Wanda) Brown of Elmhurst, Ill.; Mrs. Richard (Gayle) Gantner of
Waukegan, Ill.; Mrs. Harold (Charlotte) Chaffin of St. Louis; Mrs. Jerry
(Brenda) Sharky and Mrs. Willy (Frida) Rienwand, both of West Bend, Wis.; and
Mrs. George (Rita) Whyte of Round Lake, Wis.; and her father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Winters of Covington. She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Monday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in
Covington, with the Rev. Henry Koch officiating. Burial will be at Cold Creek
(Snoddy Cemetery). Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
