SIMMONS, Lizzie Swindler - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Lizzie May Simmons, 82, of Wingate, died at 7y:15 a.m. Wednesday Aug 30 1972, at the St. Clair Convalescent Center in East Detroit, Mich.  Born November 20 1889, near Wallace, she was the daughter of James and Charlotte Krout Swindler.  She was married November 21, 1924, to Ernest M. Simmons, who died in December of 1958. She and her husband farmed in Montgomery and Fountain counties. They retired and moved to Wingate.  She was a member of the Freedom Church at Wallace and attended the Freedom school near Wallac.e survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ethel May Williams of Warren, Mich.; three brothers, William Swindler and Eston Swindler, both of Waynetown and James Swindler of Hillsboro and a niece. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Servies Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. Burial will be in Lutheran cemetery at Wallace. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.
