SIMMONS, Laura Palmer

Mrs. Laura E. Simmons, 83 years old, died thursday night at 9:30 o'clock at Tangier at the home of her nephew.  She was a lifelong resident of Fountain county. Mrs. Simmons had been in failing health for the past four years and had been seriously ill for two weeks. She was a member of  the Centennial EUB church at Yeddo.  Mrs. Simmons was born Sept 19 1868, the daughter of Isaac and Ellen Sample Palmer.  She married George Simmons who preceded her in death. One son, Herman Simmons of Covington; a brother Elbert Palmer of Kingman and one grandchild are the only survivors.   Preceding her in death besides the husband were a daughter, four sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Sunday at the Woodrow Funeral home in Kingman.  Rev. Robert Fyfe of Veedersburg will preach the funeral sermon.  Burial will follow in the Harveysburg cemetery.
