Floyd Simmons, 72, was found dead Friday morning at his home, 706 Liberty St. It is believed he had been dead for several hours. Mr. Simmons was employed at the Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power Co. for approximately 40 years, most of the time as a maintenance worker. For several years he served as assistant engineer. Mr. Simmons was a member of the First Christian Church. The survivors include two sons, George A. Simmons of Crawfordsville and Emory G. Simmons of Framingham, Mass.; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Strong and Mrs. Robert Mills, both of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Eugene Layne of New Market; eight grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Abbie Allen of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Nancy Hughey of Grant, Mich. He was born July 5, 1896, in Fountain County. He was married to Estell May McAlister on Jan. 8, 1915. She died in 1937. Mr. Simmons was a past president of the Senior Citizens Club. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at noon Sunday at the funeral home.   --typed by Walt W
