Mellott – Mrs. Elizabeth Ann (Hutts) Simmons, 83 of the Mellott community died in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, Tuesday. She was the widow of Roy Simmons.  A native of Yeddo, she was married in 1890. Her husband died in 1939. Mrs. Simmons was a member of Spring Hill Christian Church.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Ura Newnum of Cayuga; two sons, Ernest of Wingate and Arista of Mellott; a brother, Clifford Hutts of near Kingman and sister, Mrs. Clara Gilley also of near Kingman. - kz

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Simmons, 83 died at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. She had resided recently with her son in Mellott.  Mrs. Simmons was born at Yeddo July 12, 1873 daughter of the Rev. Lewis and Elizabeth Sowers Hutts. In Dec 1890 she was married to Roy Simmons who preceded her in death on April 19, 1939. She was a member of the Spring Hill Christian Church.  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ura Newnum of Cayuga; two sons, Ernest Simmons of Wingate and Arista Simmons of Mellott with whom she had resided; a brother, Clifford Hutts of Kingman rural route; a sister, Mrs. Clara Gilley of Kingman rural route; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, a sister, two half brothers and two half sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Centennial Evangelical United Brethren Church with the Rev. Frank Canada of Cayuga in charge.  Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery. – kbz
