Beatrice I. Simmons, 86, formerly of Mellott died at 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct 19, in Williamsburg Healthcare Center, Crawfordsville. She was born March 20, 1900 in Mellott. She was married May 17, 1916 to Glen Forest Simmons. He died in 1963. She was formerly employed at Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette and also worked at Alcoa in Lafayette until retiring from there in 1965. She was a member of Mellott United Church of Christ. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Thelma May, Manchester, NH; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Katherine Yelton and Ruby Simmons and a great grandson. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. - kz
