Services for Mrs. Bonnie Simerl 75, Covington, were held on Sunday, Aug: 25, at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington at 2:00
p.m.
Mrs. Simerl died at 12:15 p.m. at the Fontanna Nursing Home m Urbana, Ill., where she had been a patient for two months. She had been in ill health for several years.
Born Nov. 16, 1892 in Cumberland County, Ill., she was the daughter of Lincoln and Ida Mae Hurt Goodwin. On Feb.27,1913, she married Alva Simerl, who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mice Lutz of Danville, Ill; two sons, George and Rex both of Covington, three half-brothers, Ben Goodwin, George Goodwin and Lewis Goodwin, all of Kansas; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Simerl was preceded in death by a son, Wayne, who was killed in World War II. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Covington.
The Rev. Edgar Allen officiated with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
