Mrs. Josie J. Sikes, 80 of 2384 N 24th St died at 1:40 p.m. Friday in Americana Nursing Center wbere she was admitted Oct 10. Mrs. Sikes, a native of Ava, Ill formerly lived on a farm east of Attica in the Bethel community. In 1908 she was married to Louis J. Sikes, who died in 1948. She was a member of the Bethel Community Church. Surviving are six sons: Frank and lewis Sikes both of Lafayette; Sherman Sikes of San Diego, Calif; Jack Sikes of Pine Village; Bill Sikes of Crawfordsville and Loyd Sikes of Hampton, VA; one daughter, Mrs. Vernabelle Moran of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Bluebelle Schimpf of Gorham, Ill and Mrs. Minnie Williams of Ava, Ill and a brother, Jack Ledbetter of East St. Louis, Ill.

"Funerals" - Sikes, Mrs. Josie J - Friends will be received at Dale Maus Funeral Home, Attica after 3 p.m. Sunday. Service at 2 p.m. Monday in Maus Chapel, the Rev. Everett White officiating. Interment Bethel Cemetery. Surviving are 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Van and Dan and one daughter, Creola. - kbz
