Attica—Minnie Irene Sigmon, 86, who lived with her daughter, Mrs. Georgia June Christie, 410 E. Monroe St., Attica, died at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 1989, in Community Hospital, Williamsport.
She was born March 4, 1903 in Green County. She lived at 9191 Garrison Drive, Indianapolis, before coming to live with her daughter a year ago. She had lived most of her life in Indianapolis. She was married Aug. 27, 1927 in Indianapolis to Earl Z. Sigmon, who preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1949.
She was a graduate of Indiana Business College in Indianapolis.
She and her husband were coal and oil retail dealers with Sigmon Coal Co., which later merged with Perine Coal and Oil Co.
She was a very active member of Castleview Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the Super 60s and Missionary Women of the church.
Surviving besides her daughter are a sister, Mrs. Audrey Parris, Dayton, Ohio; four granddaughters; two grandsons and two great grandsons.
Funeral services were in Indianapolis with the Rev. David Lohse officiating. – thanks to S
