Mayme Sisk, 83, died unexpectedly Friday (Oct. 5, 2001) at St. Clare Medical Center in Crawfordsville having been ill for the past year. She was born near Covington, Ind., on Jan. 22, 1918, the daughter of Amos and Elizabeth Burnison Martin. Mayme married Raymond F. Sisk on April 30, 1935 in Danville. He died on June 16, 1984. She was a 1935 graduate of Covington High School and was a life resident of the Covington area, living near State Line for many years. Her memberships include Richard Henry Lee Chapter for the Daughters of the American Revolution, a life member of the State Line United Methodist Church and she had been attending the Lincoln United Methodist Church in Danville. Surviving are a daughter Beverly (John) Bromley of Danville; a sister, Betty (Charles) West of Beverly Hills, Fla.; two grandsons, Alan (Tammy) Middleton of Ocoe, Fla., and Eric (Sally) Middleton of Williamsport, Ind.; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, including Jane (Ron) Colson of Hillsboro, Ind., Peggy Kenworthy of Williamsport, Ind., Michael (Brenda) Alberich of Fort Rucker, Ala., and Joe (Joyce) Alberich of Danville. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home; Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery; Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. – jlr
