Waynetown - Raymond Shute, 77, a retired farmer, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday in his home at Waynetown. Mr. Shute moved to Waynetown from his farm north of town in 1963. He was a member of Waynetown Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday School superintendent. He was a membr of Friendly Circle Sunday School Class. He was born Dec 27, 1897, near Veedersburg, a son of Henry S. and Samantha Herald Shute. He attended Brown's Business College, Danville, Ill. He was first married to Edna Galloway in 1924. She died in 1940. He married Evelyn Blackford in July 1948. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Edward L. of Plainfield and Robert E. of Waynetown; a sister, Mrs. Eva Applegate of San Diego; and six grandchildren. Two brothers and five sisters are deceased. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Stephen Malone and the Rev. Joe Fortna officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday
