SHUMAN, William W.

William W. Shuman of Covington, age 63, died Wednesday morning, July 7, at his home. He was born in Vermilion County, Illinois, March 6, 1919, the son of Amos and Lydia McCurry Shuman. April 26, 1939, he married Helen McKinney. On December 26, 1975, he married Ruth D. Pratt, who died November 27, 1977. Shuman was an auto mechanic for 15 years at Harden Ford Motor Company in Covington and also worked for the Chevrolet dealer in Covington, Indiana Highway Department, Covington Street Department and as bookkeeper with Chris Derringer of Covington.

  Surviving are three daughters, Judy Gayler, Sharon Lappin and Debby Shuman, all of Covington; four sons, William Joseph of Belton, Texas, Jerry W., Tony L. and Bobby Gene, all of Covington; a stepdaughter, Delores Evans of Indianapolis; a stepson, David Lee Crippin of Tracy, California; two sisters, Helen Brannin of Perrysville and Betty Shultz of Crete, Illinois; 11 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

  Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery. – thanks to S
