SHULZ, Abigail McCauley - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

NEWTOWN -- Mrs. Abigail Shultz, who was born in Redwood, S.D., but moved to Newtown with her family when she was 12 years old, died Thursday at the Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville at the age of 79. She suffered a stroke and had been at the nursing home for three weeks. She was the daughter of Eliah and Alice McCauley. She married Horace Shultz on Sept. 1, 1909. Mr. Shultz died March 23, 1963. Mrs. Shultz was the last of six children and was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sara Mitchell of Newtown; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. A son, Mac, preceded her in death. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley Funeral Home. Rev. Peter Heemstra of Lafayette will be the minister, and burial will be in the Newtown Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
