SHULER, Miranda Leonard

Maranda A. Shuler, daughter of Ahi (? -- can't read) and Millie M. Lambdin Leonard was born near Paoli, Ind Dec 31, 1862. When she was 18 years of age the family moved to Jackson Twp, Fountain Co Ind and on Dec 31, 1882 she was united in marriage to Charles M. Shuler. After their marriage they began housekeeping in Jackson Twp where they have continued to reside. She had been in ill health for many years but was seriously ill only one week. She passed peacefully away in her home in Wallace at near 1 a.m. sunday May 18, 1938, at the age of 74 years four months 8 days. She is survived and mourned by her devoted husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ada E. Cory and Mrs. Ruby E. Sowers, both of Wallace, three sons: Eston, Herschel and Glenn of Wallace and 9 children, two sisters Mrs. Zura Summers and Mrs. Jane Wilkey of Kingman. When a young woman and under the pastorate of the Rev. Elijah Simmons she united with the Freedom Church near Wallace and continued a member of same. The most of her long life had been lived in Jackson Twp where she was known as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a good neighbor and Christian lady.
