SHULER, Mary Hagey

Mary Hagey was born in Davidson County NC Oct 6, 1803 and died Nov 3, 1891, near Wallace, Fountain County aged 88 years 27 days. She was married to John Shuler in Davidson County in 1822. To this union 11 children were born, 7 of which survive her, all living in Fountain County except one. She was the grandmother of 44 children, 32 living and 12 dead, the great grandmother of 91, 74 living and 17 dead; and the great great grandmother of one. She and her husband moved to Fountain County in 1830 and settled on the farm on which she died. Her husband died in 1882 at the age of 79. She was baptized in infancy and was confirmed a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church at the age of 11 and died believing in Christ having been a true follower of Him for over 77 years. She was interred in the Lutheran Cemetery near Wallace Wednesday Nov 4 followed by a large number of sorrowing friends and relatives. -- kbz
