Wallace, Ind - Herschel Shuler, 74 died at 10 a.m. Saturday Aug 4, 1962 at his home in Wallace. He had been ill one month. Born July 16, 1888 near Wallace, he was the son of Charles and Maranda Leonard Shuler. He was married June 2, 1939 at Covington to Sybil Crowder who survives. He had been a life resident of the community and was a carpenter and laborer. He was a member of the Freedom Christian Church. Other survivors include a stepson, Donald Crowder of Wallace; a brother, Glen Schuler of Wallace Rt 1 and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Cory of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Ruby Philpott of Wallace. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Eston. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Freedom Christian Church. The Rev. John R. Servies will officiate. Burial will be in Harveysburg Fraternal Cemetery near Kingman. The body is at the family residence. The Servies Funeral Home of Waynetown is in charge.   ---typed by kbz

Herschel Shuler Of Wallace Dies-
WALLACE- Herschel Shuler, a native of near Wallace and lifetime resident of this community, died at his home here at 10 a.m. Saturday. He had been ill a month of asthma and a heart ailment. Born July 16, 1888, he was a son of Charles and Maranda Leonard Shuler. He was married in Covington June 2, 1939 to Sybil Crowder, who survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Donald Crowder; a brother, Glenn Shuler of Rt. 1, Kingman; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Cory of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Ruby Philpott of Wallace, and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a brother, Estin Shuler. Mr. Shuler was a member of Freedom Christian Church. He was a carpenter and laborer. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Christian Church, with Rev. John Services officiating. Burial will be in the Harversburg Fraternal Cemetery at Kingman. The body will be brought from the Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown to the Shuler residence in Kingman at noon Monday.
