SHULER, Harold "Jack"

Waynetown -- Harold Leland "Jack" Shuler, 20 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Shuler, of this place, died at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis at 12:30 this afternoon. A four weeks' illness with pneumonia following a slight operation at the hospital resulted in his death. Word of his passing away reached Waynetown earlyt his afternoon, coming as a severe shock to the community where "Jack," as Harold was familiarly known was liked by everyone. Harold was born at Wallace, but came here with his parents while an infant. He was educated in the elementary schools hwere and entered Crawfordsville HS graduating with the class of 1913. He then entered Indiana University and had gone thru the freshman and sophomore years at the university. He would have entered his junior year at IU this fall. The deceased young man was bright and talented. While in CHS his name was high in the honor roll of the school. He had many friends in Crawfordsville and wask nown and liked by everyone in Waynetown. For several days it has been known that his condition was serious and fear has been felt he would not recover. Harold is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Shuler, and one brother, Lacey Shuler. Plans were made this afternoon to take the body to Waynetown on the Big Four train this evening. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
