SHUFF, George - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mr. George Emory Shuff, 70, a retired farmer of the Covington community died Sunday at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville after being a patient there one day following a heart attack.  He was born Jan 3, 1883 at Abdington, VA son of David and Irene Forbes Shuff.  In 1907 he married Frances Webb who preceded him in death in Sept 1950. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Carwile of Covington; Mrs. Ruby Bodine of Covington Rt 3 and Mrs. Ethel Rinn of Honolulu, Hawaii; a son, George Jr at home; a brother, Gordon of Hoopeston; three sisters, Mrs. Tina Roderick of Danville; Mrs. Margaret Ewald of Anderson, Ind and Miss Glee Shuff of Ft. Wayne and 12 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; two sons, two daughters and three sisters.  He was a member of Covington Methodist Church. Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. with burial in Upper Mound Cemetery.
