SHORT, George William

George W. Short, 75, a retired farmer, died early Thursday morning at his
home at 1016 E. Main Street, Danville, Ill after a several month illness.
He was born Jay 28, near Hillsboro, the son of James and Amanda Kemp
Short. In 1900 he was married to Harriet Rodgers of Newtown who preceded
him in death. They resided on a farm near Newtown until 1918 when they retired
and moved to Danville. Mr. Short was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of
Hopewell, Ind, Olive Brand Lodge, Danville Consistory, Iris Chapter of OES and
White Shrine. Survivors are a brother, Charles E. Short of near Hillsboro; two
sisters-in-law, Mrs. Florence Graham, Danville, Ill and Mrs. Della Haas of
Crawfordsville. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral
services were held from the Pape Memorial Home in Danville at 2 p.m. Saturday
with Rev. Bliss Cartwright officiating. Burial in Atherton Cemetery. --- kbz
