“Aunt” Sobrina Shoemaker, Fountain County’s oldest resident, died last Saturday evening at 7:30 at her home near Hillsboro. Her exact age is not known, but her friends believe her to be 104 or 105 years old. She was a pensioner of the War of 1812, her husband having taken part in the conflict. She was young at the time of that war, and could relate many incidents. Mrs. Shoemaker was a great aunt of Mrs. D. W. Gerard, of this city. - kbz
