Mrs. Nellie Shoaf, 93, of 129 Suzie Lane died 1 p.m. Saturday (April 6, 1974) at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., of an apparent heart attack. Born April 3, 1881 at Kokomo, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McCarty. She was married in 1911 at Veedersburg to Dr. Francis A. Shoaf who had practiced medicine in Veedersburg and Kokomo. He died in 1932. A resident of Attica since 1958, she had lived most of her life in Kokomo. She had resided in Veedersburg a short time. A graduate of Kokomo High and DePauw University, she had been a school teacher in Veedersburg. She was a member of the Grace Methodist Church and Alpha Phi Sorority. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jane Forstner of Philadelphia; a son Francis of Attica; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Fred S. Purnell of Attica, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Dale Maus Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Lallement officiating. Burial in Crown Point Cemetery at Kokomo. -- typed by Walt W
