SHOAF, Merle Brook - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Merle SHOAF, 83, former Kingman resident who resided in the Parke County Nursing Home died Thursday evening in the Vermillion County Hospital, Clinton. She had been a patient 10 days. She was a member of Kingman Community Church. Mrs. Shoaf was born in Indiana Feb 21, 1902 a daughter of William and Minnie Livengood Brook. She was married March 21, 1925 to Ernest Shoaf who is also a resident of the nuring home. Other survivors are 3 sons: Delbert and Ray of Kingman and Owen of East Chicago; two brothers, Fred Brook of Cayuga and Eston of Kingman, 10 grandchildren and six great grand children. She was preceded in death by a son Loren on June 28, 1949. Services will be 10;30 a.m. Monday in Woodrow Funeral Home, in Kingman with Kenneth Majors officiating. Interment will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at Funeral Home 5-9 p.m. Sunday.   --kbz
