SHOAF, Madison Henry

Last rites for Madison H. Shoaf, who was found dead on the front porch of his home, in Crawfordsville, early Saturday morning July 4, 1936 were conducted at the Profitt & Sons funeral parlors in Crawfordsville. The services were in charge of Rev. Earl Moore and burial was in Wolf Creek cemetery near Wallace. Mr. Shoaf was found slumped over in a chair about 6 o'clock Saturday morning by George Parson. Mr. Shoaf's death was attributed to coronary thrombosis by Coroner Charles ??? who investigated. The deceased, who was an employee of the Oriental Brick Company at Crawfordsville was born in Fountain County, May 26, 1878, the son of Henry and Alice Pilkington Shoaf. He married Elizabeth Zachmire in 1901. Mr. Shoaf had been a resident of Crawfordsville since 1916 having moved here from Veedersburg. Survivors re 5 children: Orvill,, Blooomington; Leroy, Mary and Olive all of Attice and Mrs. Myra Rhoades LaHapre, Ill and three grandchildren. A daughter, Finele preceded him in death.
