Guy D. Shoaf, 79, died at noon Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. He was a retired farmer. For 17 years he owned and operated the Anoca Dairy here, sand in more recent years he was a used furniture dealer. Mr. Shoaf was a charter member of the Church of the Nazarene in Veedersburg, helping to establish the church in 1923. A native of Parke County, he was a son of Jacob and Martha Lawson Shoaf and was born Oct. 17, 1889. He was wed June 10, 1909 to Eunice Givens, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Walter of Coolidge, Ariz., Earl of Danville, Ill., and Robert of Veedersburg; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Hack of Cayuga and Mrs. Edna Oblinger of Veedersburg; a half-brother, Claude Clark of Veedersburg, and nieces and nephews. VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) — Guy G. Shoaf, 78, a retired farmer of the Veedersburg community, died at noon yesterday (Sept. 22, 1963) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. He had been a patient there two weeks. Born Oct. 17, 1889, in Parke County, he was the son of Jacob and Martha Lawson Shoaf. He was married June 19, 1909, in Veedersburg to Eunice Givens, who survives. Mr. Shoaf operated the Anoka Dairy in Veedersburg for 17 years and at the time of retirement, he was a used furniture dealer. He was a charter member of the Church of the Nazarene which he helped establish in 1923. Other survivors include three sons, Walter of Coolidge, Ariz., Earl of Danville, Ill., and Robert of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Hack of Cayuga and Mrs. Edna Oblinger of Veedersburg; a half brother, Claude Clark of Veedersburg; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene. Omar Walters will officiate. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. The body is at the Parham Funeral Home.
