KINGMAN – Frank Shoaf, 75, of Kingman, who retired from the state highway department in 1967, died Tuesday in his residence. He had been in ill health for six years. He had been employed at Natonal Homes Corp. at Lafayette and Harrison Steel Casting Co. at Attica. He was a member of Kingman United Methodist Church, Kingman Chapter 3621 of Modern Woodmen of America and Labor and Hod Carriers Union local 274 of Lafayette. Born July 4, 1899, in Fountain County, he was the son of Arista S. and Hanna Dark Shoaf. He was married Nov. 7, 1927, to Avanella Allen. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Gordon of Kingman;
three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Phyllis) Ransom and Mrs. Leroy (Marjorie) Keeling of Kingman and Mrs. Phillip (Joyce) Berard of Crawfordsville; six sisters, Mrs. Opal Wakeland, Mrs. Elva Duzhene, Mrs. Hazel Wakeland,
Mrs. Emma Seigfried and Mrs. Laurena Allen of Kingman and Mrs. Evalena Gritten of Cates; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at
Covington with the Rev. Luther Page officiating. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.   -– jlr

Frank Shoaf, 75, Rt. 2, Kingman, died at 6:25 p.m. at his home. He had been in ill health six years.
  He was born July 4, 1899, in Fountain County, the son of Arista and Hanna Jane Dark Shoaf.
  His marriage was Nov. 7, 1927, to Avanelle Allen, who survives, along with four children, Mrs. Ralph (Phyllis) Ransom, Kingman, Mrs. Leroy (Marjorie) Keeling, Kingman, Mrs. Phillip (Joyce) Berard, Crawfordsville, and Gordon Shoaf, Kingman; six grandchildren; one great grandson; and six sisters, Mrs. Opal Wakeland, Kingman, Mrs. Ebalena Gritten, Cates, Mrs. Elva Duchene, Kingman, Mrs. Hazel Wakeland, Rt. 2, Kingman, and Mrs. Laurena Allen, Rt. 2, Kingman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
  He was a life resident of Kingman and had been employed at National Homes of Lafayette and Harrison Steel. He retired from the Indiana State Highway Department in 1967.
  He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kingman, Kingman Camp 3621 of Modern Woodmen, South American Laborers and the Hod Carriers Local Union #274 of Lafayette.
  Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Luther Page officiating. Burial will be at Kingman Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.-s
