Cedric P. Shoaf, 68, of Kingman Route 2 died at 7;40 p.m. CST Thursday Dec 23 1976 at Burnham City Hospital in Champaign. The Champaign County coroner is investigating. He had farmed in the Kingman area for 30 years before retiring four years ago. He was a member of the Rockville Farm Bureau. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was born near Fowler on May 26 1908 the son of James Wesley and Lizzie Wendell Shoaf. He married Gertrude Lange on June 20 1931 in Bloomingdale and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Julian of Kingman Route 2, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Craig of Veedersburg and Mrs. Jack (Sue) Bennett of Cayuga; a sister, Mrs. Tressie Harvey of Rockville; a brother, Harry Shoaf of Covington Route 1; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, one sister and one brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Monday at the Malcolm DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate, and burial will be in Miller Centery in Lodi. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
