SHOAF, Avanelle Allen - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

KINGMAN – Funeral services were held Thursday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington for Avanelle Shoaf, 70, of Kingman. Burial was in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Officiating at the service were the Rev. Luther Page and the Rev. Dennis Keefer. Mrs. Shoaf died Monday in her home after an illness of nine year’s. She had been a life resident of Fountain County and had resided in Kingman 50 years. She was a member of the Kingman United Methodist Church, Modern Woodman Camp 3621 and Rebekah Lodge 517. She had been employed at Dormyers at Rockville. She attended the Cates and Rabb school systems. Born Nov. 8, 1909, at Cates, she was a daughter of David and Ada Wallace Allen. She married Frank Shoaf on Nov. 7, 1927. He died Aug. 6, 1974. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Phylllis) Ranson and Mrs. Leroy (Marjorie) Keeling, both of Kingman and Mrs. Phllip (Joyce) Berard of Crawfordsville; a son, Gordon of Kingman; four sisters, Mrs. Gay Crowder of Perrysville, Mrs. Nick (Marjorie) Royer of Lafayette, Mrs. Wilma Parker of Demorest, Ga., and Mrs. Wayne (Freida) Holycross of Danville, Ill.; a brother, Ferris Allen of Rt. 1, Covington; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
