Veedersburg, Ind - Mrs. Bessie M. Shirley, 70, resident of Veedersburg the past 35 years, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 18, 1955 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Edith Stonebreaker (sic) where she had been spending the winter. Mrs. Shirley was born at Rossville Jan 3, 1855. She was married Sept 2, 1903 to Frank Shirley and he died 20 years ago. She was a member of Veedersburg Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edith Stonebreaker of Veedersburg and Mrs. Buryl Templeton of Hillsboro; six sons, Lloyd of chicago; Raymond of Crawfordsville; Harley of Hammond; Glenn of Louisville, Ky; Jewell of Tangier and Lowell of Seattle, Wash. The body is at the Fishero Funeral Home. Arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Shirley was born at Rossville Jan 3, 1885. She was married Sept 2, 1903 to Frank Shirley who preceded her in death. She was a member of Veedersburg Christian Church.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edith Stonebraker of Veedersburg and Mrs. Buryl Templeton of Hillsboro; six sons, Lloyd of Chicago, Raymond of Crawfordsville, Harley of Hammond, Glenn of Louisville, Ky, Jewell of Tangier and Lowell of Seattle, Wash. Funeral services were held at the Fishero Funeral Home Thursday at 1:30 with Fred Chelan in charge. Burial was in Cold Springs Cemetery. – kbz
